This artide is to investigate what effects Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE and honey-fried Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE have on Rats with Acute Renal Failure(ARF) induced by Gentamicin Sulfate.
So this experimental research was focused on measuring ¨ç the level of Creatinine, Blood Urea Nitrogen(BUN). Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase(GOT), Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase(GPT), Total Protein, Sodium(Na+), Potassium(K+), Chloride(Cl-) in the Serum, ¨è the level of Protein, Blood, Sodium(Na+), Potassium(K+), Chloride(Cl-), pH, Specific Gravity and Volume in the Urine and ¨é Intake Water.
The results were summarized as follows :
1. As to Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE, while the concentrations of Blood Urea Nitrogen(BUN), Creatinine, Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase(GOT) in the Serum were significantly decreased the level of Sodium(Na+) in the Urine was significantly increased and those of Total protein in the Serum, protein and Blood in the Urine were partially improved.
2. As to Honey-fried Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE, while the concentrations of Blood Urea Nitrogen(BUN), Creatinine, Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase(GPT) in the Serum were significantly decreased the level of Potassium(K+) in the Urine was significantly increased and those of Total Protein in the Serum, Protein and Blood in the Urine were partially improved.
According to the above results, it is shown that Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE and Honey-fried Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE ¨ç the Glomerular Filtration Rate(GFR) is partially increased and ¨è the function of tubular reabsorption is partially improved.
It is concluded that both Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE and Honey-fried Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE maybe be conductive to the treatment of Acute Renal Failure(ARF).
